Yantra yoga is an ancient Tibetan system based on the treatise "The Union of the Sun and Moon" (8th century). The practice includes 75 yantras — special movements performed in strict synchrony with breathing and mental concentration. Unlike Hatha yoga, the emphasis is not on holding poses but on the smooth flow of movement. The practice harmonizes body, energy, and mind, preparing one for Meditation.
75 yantras are performed in full coordination of three aspects simultaneously: body movement, breath, and mental concentration. The emphasis is not on the form of the pose, but on the quality of presence and the influence of body positions on the breath and inner state.
Physical effect
Flexibility, balance, coordination of movement and breathing.
Mental effect
Development of concentration, harmonization of the internal Prana (life energy), preparation for contemplative Meditation.
